Study shows huge Growth in US Time spent Streaming TV

Americans who can use streaming services like Netflix and Hulu spend nearly 19% of their television viewing time watching them.

This is almost double what it was less than two years ago, according to a report by Nielsen.

The study shows how quickly people have started using streaming services instead of traditional TV. In a study from March 2018, Nielsen found that 10% of TV viewing time was spent streaming, but during the last three months of 2019, this increased to 19%.

More than half of Americans who can use streaming services pay for two of more of them, Nielsen found. 반 이상의 스트리밍서비스를 이용하는 미국인은 두 개 이상의 스트리밍서비스에 돈을 낸다는 것을 닐슨이 발견했다. And 93% of those surveyed said they planned to either increase that number or keep paying for what they already have.

The average American now spends 11 hours, 54 minutes each day watching or listening to some form of media, an increase of nearly an hour and a half in only a year.

Traditional TV takes up 3 hours, 27 minutes of that time, a 17-minute drop from the year before. However, streaming time increased from 29 minutes a day to 38 minutes in the same amount of time.

Nielsen said consumers had access to 646,152 different movies or TV shows last year, but a lot of Americans are still watching shows that started on traditional TV. The research found that most-watched shows on Netflix included old favorites like Friends, The Office, Criminal Minds.
